VISITS
The Visits Group
Are you keen to visit interesting places in Lincolnshire and beyond? We hope to organise trips to a variety of different places in 2024 but would also welcome suggestions from members so that we can build a programme that suits you for 2025. Some trips will have limited numbers so please ensure that you book your place via the booking form at the General Meeting.
If you have any questions or cannot attend the meeting and wish to reserve your place, or for any other matters please contact Rosey Thompson on 0786 668 8700 or email roseythompson61@gmail.com
Planned Visits
Wragby Heritage Group have put together a museum in an old shop on Bardney Road opposite the Market Place, Wragby. LN8 5 QU. They are open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday until the lease ends on 21st September 2025.
However, they will open especially for Lindsey U3A at 2pm Wednesday 27th August with historian and Chair of the society, Victor Nash on hand to explain the history of Wragby and share tales of life ‘Where Five Ancient Roads Meet’. From Roman Villas to farm life to the auction of the entire town in 1917 it is a fascinating tale of a Lincolnshire Town.
The Wragby museum will open for us at 2pm. There are stairs from the ground floor to the first floor. Members may wish to take advantage of the many pubs and cafés in the Market square for refreshments before or after. Across the road The Granary Tea Room also houses an exhibition about the town's 200 year old mill.
Although this is short notice I felt that it was important to support a local initiative and recognise the hard work of all those concerned.
If you would like to go or you have any questions regarding this visit please contact me on my mobile; 0786 668 8700 or email me on roseythompson61@gmail.com
