General Meetings take place on the first Thursday of every month in Welton Village Hall at 10:30 am.


Doors open from 9:30 to give members the chance to socialise, have a tea or coffee and visit the Welton Room to see what our many Interest Groups have to offer.


The exception is in May when the meeting moves to the third Thursday to accommodate the Hall being used for local elections and the Welton Farmers' Market.


We aim to have an interesting and entertaining speaker for every meeting.  


August 6th - Helen Gamble

Lincolnshire Wolds Countryside Service Project Officer


We are lucky to have on our doorstep a nationally-recognised and funded Area of Outstanding National Beauty (AONB)  in the Lincolnshire Wolds.   Helen will talk to us about this area, the controls that are in place to prevent change and development and also about the habitats that it provides to rare flora and fauna.   Her talk will also cover the rare chalk streams in the AONB

September 3 - Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance Service



A volunteer will talk to us about the challenges facing the charity  - it cost £13 million per year to keep the helicopters flying, all of which has to be raised from the public as they receive no Government funding.  (The service attended 1608 incidents in 2025). 

Currently they are fund-raising for a new ambulance and they have recently purchased two critical care cars which are based at their Waddington site to ferry patients to hospitals etc.

October 1st - Update on the Quicksilver Project


A return visit by Nigel Macknight to provide an update on the Quicksilver project.


Nigel is the driving force behind a project team who are constructing a speedboat to wrest the World water speed record from the Australians who have held this record for 47 years.
