Objectives of the Group

We are a large and friendly Group, who are interested in the buildings and settlements of the local area.  We arrange talks in the winter months and trips to towns, villages and individual buildings once the weather gets warmer.  We have a varied programme which includes the ancient and modern, usually with knowledgeable local guides.  Our tours often finish in the local pub or teashop!

We meet on the third Thursday of the month, generally at 10.30am. Some of our visits do have limited numbers and we have Booking Forms at the General Meetings where you can put your name down. If you have any questions, please phone Luke on 07774 251197.

A WALK AROUND UPHILL ROMAN LINCOLN

THURSDAY 17 SEPTEMBER 2026

10.15AM FOR 10.30AM START

Our own u3a member, Penny Forsdyke, will meet us outside the Lincoln Hotel on Eastgate, where she will begin another of her enjoyable and enlightening walking tours. Along the way, she will point out buildings and other structures of historic and architectural interest and share some of her extensive knowledge of this special area. No doubt she will surprise us with a few amazing and entertaining stories.



The walk will last around an hour and a quarter. Numbers are restricted to a maximum of 15 members. The Booking Form will be on the Architecture Group’s table in the Welton Room at the August and September General Meetings.

Perhaps members will choose to extend their morning with a visit to one of the many cafes in the area.
